When will the President deliver the State of the Union?


Tonight, January 12th, at 9pm ET, President Obama will deliver his final State of the Union Address. The speech will be held in the U.S. Capitol in the House of Representatives Chamber. The speech is expected to last about an hour. The speech will be followed by a Republican Response.


How can I watch or listen to the President’s speech?


You can watch the speech live on all the major networks and cable news channels. You can also view the speech on the web on the White House’s website and Amazon. You will be able to listen to the speech on NPR.


Who will be there?


Vice President Joe Biden and House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) will be sitting behind the President during the speech. The First Lady, the Cabinet, the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the Supreme Court, and Members of Congress will also attend tonight’s speech. A list of guests who will be seated with Mrs. Obama may be viewed here.


What will the President talk about in his speech?

Who is delivering the Republican Response?


South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley will give the brief post-SOTU Republican response. Governor Haley is the youngest governor in America and the third consecutive woman to deliver the Republican response.
